Description
The Hiller Companies , a national leader in the fire protection and security industry, is hiring for Outside Sales.
Pay Range: $68,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually
Job Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and supporting the growth of the service agreement business in the Fire & Life Safety field. Our goal is to prospect, provide customer solutions and collaborate with our technical Operations staff. Our sales team supports the overall service revenue growth strategy and plays a vital role in expanding Hiller's company market share.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory or market segment.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Generate leads through networking, cold calling, referrals, and other sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to develop effective sales strategies and marketing initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Conduct regular site visits, review inspection reports, assess clients' fire protection needs and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers regarding fire protection systems, equipment, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with and cost review opportunities with internal teams, such as operations project managers and technicians, to ensure smooth execution of services and projects.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses for management review.
  • Maintain a qualified funnel of opportunities, achieve new customer acquisition and profit goals consistently.
  • Act as a consultant to customers, recommend services for business goals, set market pricing and position Hiller as an industry leader in service delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Travel overnight up to 15% for training and business development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Licensure & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required; however, a bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or similar discipline is preferred.
Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in sales, business development, or consulting.
  • Experience selling service agreements to multiple levels of the customer's organization.
Preferred, but not required:
  • Working knowledge of common fire and life safety systems and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, Capabilities:
  • Account development and strategic sales skills.
  • Financial expertise to estimate and sell technical solutions and service offerings effectively.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, MS Office Suite, and other sales tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Great customer service skills, self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate technical information to clients.
  • Must have good teamwork capabilities.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to learn and become familiar with building safety inspection codes and standards (NFPA and other industry regulations).
  • Employee must be able to:
    • Use a computer, telephone.
    • Sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.
