Description

The Hiller Companies, a national leader in the fire protection and security industry, is hiring qualified Fire Alarm Technicians.

Fire Alarm Technicians are responsible for delivering outstanding customer service with tasks related to the installation, modification, inspection, troubleshooting, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Specific work duties include:

  • Installing, inspecting and servicing fire alarm systems, access control and other related systems.

  • Running conduit, pulling wire, mounting devices and panels, reading blue prints, room integrity testing, organizing supplies and performing final, accurate and complete tests.

  • Providing emergency service to investigate and diagnose alarm and trouble conditions to determine cause and take corrective action in order to bring system back to a normal and armed condition.

  • Maintaining accurate and precise documentation of all work orders daily, including thorough and timely inspection reports with signature from customer submitted to inspection manager.

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment with strict attention to all safety requirements.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Prior field service experience with fire alarm or related systems.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, common materials and tools, manufacturer products, and installation process.
  • Ability to identify deficiencies utilizing NFPA code and provide accurate and proper documentation to correct problem.
  • Must display professional appearance and demeanor along with outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be a self-motivated worker with the demonstrated ability to contribute to team operations, performing all work in an efficient, organized and cost-effective manner.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, operate high lift equipment and carry and move work materials.
  • NICET and/or other relevant certification a plus but not required for consideration
