The Hidden Cafe in Berkeley, CA is hiring and looking for general crew members, and a barista to join our team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and engaged. This is a neighborly community cafe with a focus in artisan handmade beverages, pastries, and light lunch fare. We support artists, musicians and organizations uplifting their communities in the east bay and beyond. Please provide a cover letter with your application and availability.

We are currently looking for someone who can cover shifts from 8am-1:30pm or 1pm-5:30pm Tuesday - Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold drinks in accordance with customer needs
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Follow health and safety guidelines Interact with customers regularly and professionally
• Prepare and serve light food menu offerings

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a barista. At least 1 year of experience as a barista and cashier preferred
• High integrity with a great attendance record
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively
• Provide a warm presence to the space and fellow staff team and customers alike

Pay

• We are starting pay at $18.00 Tips (when tips included it averages to $22)
• Cash and Card tips are split equally amongst staff team and management for the day of production.
