The Heritage Community is Hiring a SHIFT LEAD | Elevate Academy ($18/hour) Near Provo, UT

Job Description
Elevate Academy is a co-ed, residential treatment program for adolescents, specializing in trauma, mood disorders, adoption and attachment issues, and similar diagnoses. Students in Elevate Academy have faced adverse experiences that have negatively impacted their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. We strive to engage our students to connect to their resiliency, and then empower them to build on that to take charge of a thriving future!
Elevate Academy has three residential settings - Foundations, Passages, and Horizons - based on the therapeutic progression of the students. We currently seek to hire Shift Lead positions within the Passages setting. A Shift Lead is an assistant to the Home Manager. They are responsible to manage their assigned shift, train and direct personnel on their team, oversee the structure and supervision of students, and assure a caregiving environment is upheld. We will hire a candidate who demonstrates solid leadership skills, who can be attuned to the needs of others, and shows passion and vision to excel!

Available Schedules:
  • TTHS, 7 AM - 3 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks
  • MWF, 7 AM - 3 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks
  • TTHS, 2:30 - 10 PM, one Sunday every 4 weeks
Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Aptitude of adolescent development.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully coach and mentor adolescents.
  • Basic understanding and competency of complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, attachment disorders, etc. Must also show assertiveness to improve knowledge and competency for efficient job performance.
  • Management and leadership skills - using passion and vision to teach and steward both students and employees.
  • Excellence in innovation and executing plans, knowing how to be attuned to the people and business you serve to weave culture and results.
  • Good energy, with ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Engaging and empathetic character, with the balance of tenacity and determination.
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal-relationship skills, with basic computer skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop close, personal, and emotionally supportive relationships with the students on your home, coaching them in their treatment progression.
  • Implement clinical treatment plans as outlined by the Treatment Team, and assure team members also understand expectations.
  • Serve as an assistant to the Home Manager for leadership duties. This includes, but is not limited to, managing and training staff, handling operational components of assigned shift, assuring Elevate Academy program components are consistent, and that treatment care objectives are applied in a true, high-quality manner.
  • Consistently touch base with team members, for performance tracking and development.
  • Reliably intercede and successfully mediate any conflicts at hand, or any time a student needs further support and guidance.
  • Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings, coming prepared to report on the therapeutic progression of the students. Work collaboratively with clinical Therapists and other Treatment Team members to develop strategic goals and objectives for each student that will guide them forward in their healing.
  • Participate in a wide variety of activities with the students, encouraging and supporting them to develop the skills associated with the tasks (i.e., sports, bike riding, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, etc.).
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6-months' relevant experience working in residential treatment required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply.
  • Physical ability to provide interventions, such as safety holds.
  • Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
