The Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program at The Henry Ford is a cohort-based program that offers professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities. We invite diverse candidates* who are curious about careers in the museum world to become a part of our legacy and take it forward. For Winter 2024, internships will last 15 weeks, projected to begin on January 22^nd and conclude on April 29^th.

How will we work together?

The Email Digital Marketing Intern can expect to work hybrid. Based on specific project needs, there are times when you and the team will work on-site at The Henry Ford’s campus in Dearborn, MI.

Digital Marketing at The Henry Ford is responsible for developing and delivering timely messaging to over 180,000 email subscribers and approximately 4,000 SMS subscribers. The work under this internship will vary based on active projects at the time and may be shaped based on the background, experience, and interest of the individual selected for the position.

You’ll work directly with the Email Digital Marketing Specialist and support the Digital Marketing Team with creating compelling email and SMS messaging for members and guests of The Henry Ford. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple departments and cross-functional teams and learn how digital marketing is crucial to the success of all events and venues. You will be able to contribute to the success of ongoing and forthcoming projects and receive guidance and training that meets you where you are.

Your primary responsibilities could include:

• Becoming proficient with iPost email service provider for producing email and SMS
• Sourcing content, writing and editing email newsletters for multiple audiences
• Processing images and assets using image editing software
• Writing and deploying SMS messages to dedicated members and guests
• Utilizing Workfront project management for routing email proofs to reviewers
• Managing email lists and uploading as data tables
• Applying The Henry Ford brand guidelines to all messaging

What should you have?

To be successful, the Email Digital Marketing Intern should be interested in or curious about a future role in email marketing as well as a demonstrated commitment to managing multiple projects and priorities through academic, professional, or volunteer experience. Experience in graphic design is also useful.
