Title: Lead Barista
Job Type: Part-time (28 hours)
Rate: $20.00 Tips
Reports to: Director of Career Development
Hours: Flexible hours within the cafe operating hours of 7am-3pm, Monday-Friday
Position Description:
Land of a Thousand Hills Cafe located in downtown Lynn and is open from 7-3 - and we are hiring! Our cafe is a social enterprise owned and operated by The Haven Project, a Lynn based non-profit, helping housing unstable youth. The cafe acts as a "Job Training facility", which means our baristas help to train the job training clients to become competent workers in future jobs.
We are seeking community minded individuals with a dedication to quality product and excellent customer service. Candidates must be able to work independently and have experience in food and drink preparation, cash handling and food storage.
The Lead Barista is in charge of maintaining order in the café and training staff with any difficulties with operations in the café. Assists Director of Career Development with marketing for the café, orders with vendors, inventory, training, catering, and finalizing projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead Barista will maintain the café up to code and assist staff with training and difficulties for quality control. Will assist with images and marketing for the café internally and externally. Fill orders needed for vendors and make sure products are stocked. Monthly inventory is filled and assists with any projects for the café. Assists in the training of Haven Project’s job training program participants in coordination with the Director of Career Development.
Qualifications:
1 year Barista experience preferred.
1 years of experience in the coffee industry industry or restaurant industry preferred.
Exemplify the ideal barista with exceptional bar skills, outstanding customer service, and a passion for sharing knowledge.
Demonstrate compassion and patience to be able work with young adults in training.
Excellent time management skills and ability to self-direct when necessary.
Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills.
Basic or previous POS experience.
Compassion, patience, and the ability to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment;
Maintaining a non-judgmental attitude and a display of unconditional positive regard when working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
Education:
High school or equivalent required.
