Benham is a leader in transportation design, providing services in planning, environmental services, roadway and bridge design. Our civil and structural engineers, environmental specialists and support professionals provide innovative and quality transportation solutions for our state, turnpike, municipal and private clients.
We are looking for a Civil Engineer with a PE license that will provide transportation project management. In this role, you will participate in project delivery by executing innovative planning, evaluation, design, and construction support services for a variety of transportation projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the design and production of transportation plans.
- Assure conformance to design document standards and criteria for Civil Design.
- Construction support.
- Develop design budget, fees, and scopes with input from the project design team.
- Project financial performance.
- Coordinate staff allocation to projects with other design project managers.
- Coordinate among disciplines.
- Coordinate subconsultants.
- Change management.
- Client management and primary client interface.
- Develop potential future work opportunities.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive relevant experience
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Oklahoma or the ability to obtain reciprocity
- Experience with geometric design, drainage design, construction sequencing and utility relocation coordination.
- Knowledge of design document production.
- Experience with CAD design software.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
- Transportation design project management experience.
- Communications, negotiations, management, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge and experience in design project management including, but not limited to, budgeting, scheduling, proposal writing, staffing, coordination, forecasting, conflict resolution, and change management,

While some clients are looking for turnkey design-build or engineer-procure-construct projects, The Design & Consulting Team serves clients who need specialized, fee-for-service design or consulting projects. These types of projects allow our team to form a strong rapport with client teams, marshaling them as they grow and helping them address industry and market challenges. The Design & Consulting Team serves four primary markets: Civil Infrastructure; Government, primarily the Department of Defense, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Air and Army National Guard, and the U.S. Naval Facilities Command; Industrial, focusing on food and beverage, consumer products, and utilities; and Healthcare.
Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
