The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is Hiring a Psychiatrist (Relief) Adult Forensics Near Houston, TX

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is expanding our psychiatry team! We're dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals with mental health and IDD needs. We're actively seeking a PRN Psychiatrist who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families struggling with mental illness. We want psychiatrists who are committed to meeting diverse needs and providing quality mental health care in the community. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and a passion for helping underserved individuals, promoting recovery and patient-centeredness. Your role will involve performing psychiatric evaluations and providing clinical leadership. As an outpatient psychiatrist, you'll be part of a compassionate and dedicated team that includes care coordinators, licensed therapists, practice managers, and nurses. We offer hybrid and in-person outpatient positions.

Your Role in Action:

  • Evaluate individuals and complete all applicable assessments which are required according to State and Program Standards and are deemed appropriate as outlined by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Provide Medication Maintenance to those individuals assigned to the physicians caseload or those deemed necessary to serve during a crisis situation.
  • Provide case consultation and prescribe all rehabilitative therapies associated with persons served.
  • Provide Crisis Resolution Services and make appropriate recommendations for other crisis services as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation necessary to ensure compliance with required Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, THE Harris Center, and organizational standards 100% of the time.
  • Prescriptive Authority and provide Supervision of APRN and PA’s.
  • Complete all required training as outlined by The Harris Center and attend designated meetings.
  • Perform other related job duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not mentioned in the job description.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • Graduation from as Accredited Medical School and Psychiatric Residency Program. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas. Special Courses, Certificates, and Licenses: Texas Medical License.

Other Key Qualifications

  • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the State of Texas (Specialty in Psychiatry).
  • Boards Eligible or Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent, and Forensic.
  • Must have and maintain a current controlled Substance Registration certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
  • Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) Registered

  • Your Workweek: Enjoy a consistent schedule ofMonday through Friday, 8-5pm allowing for flexible scheduling. A hybrid approach to care is used across the continuum of crisis care to provide additional flexibility. Additional hours are available if desired to supplement income.
  • Your workplace: Your role is located at 1200 Baker St Houston, TX 77002. You will work with an engaging multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, social services, and other physician team members (Psychiatrists, Primary Care) to deliver meaningful care to an underserved patient population.
