We're actively seeking a PRN Psychiatrist who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families struggling with mental illness. We want psychiatrists who are committed to meeting diverse needs and providing quality mental health care in the community. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and a passion for helping underserved individuals, promoting recovery and patient-centeredness. We value partners who are willing to go above and beyond, navigate complexity gracefully, and do the right thing in a public sector setting.
Your role will involve performing psychiatric evaluations and providing clinical leadership. As an outpatient psychiatrist, you'll be part of a compassionate and dedicated team that includes care coordinators, licensed therapists, practice managers, and nurses. We offer hybrid and in-person outpatient positions.

The HARRIS CENTER is the state-designated Local Mental Health Authority and Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Authority serving Harris County, Texas. As the largest behavioral and developmental disability care center in Texas, The HARRIS CENTER provided care to over 79,000 people in fiscal year 2019 and has an annual budget of over $275 million.
As part of its mission to transform the lives of people with behavioral health and IDD needs in the third largest county in the United States, The HARRIS CENTER provides a full continuum of services at 86 different sites across Harris County. In addition, services are provided in more than 42 different languages as well as sign language in order to better serve what is one of the most diverse and multi-cultural communities in the nation.

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (formerly Mental Health & Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County) The Harris Center, Harris County's state-designated Local Mental Health Authority and Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority, provided mental health and intellectual and developmental disability services to 51,518 unduplicated individuals in Harris County in Fiscal Year 2016 through its four service divisions: Mental Health Outpatient Services Mental Health Forensic Services Intellectual Disability and Autism Services Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Pr...ogram The Agency also served over 18,000 individuals at the Harris County Jail through its contract with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. As the largest behavioral and developmental disability care center in Texas, The Harris Center strives to provide high quality, efficient, and cost effective services so that persons with mental disabilities may live with dignity as fully functioning, participating, and contributing members of our community.
