Assistant teachers at Harbour are active participants in the teaching/learning process and an integral part of each classroom’s teaching team. Duties include providing instruction under the supervision of the lead teacher, assisting with classroom management, implementing lessons, and working directly with students developing social skills as well as assisting with social emotional learning. Position is part of a dynamic team working towards creating exceptional educational outcomes for students with special needs. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, education or human services preferred. We maintain small class sizes in a pleasant work environment and the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in special education. The Harbour School provides special education services to students in grades 1-12 in both Annapolis and Owings Mills, Maryland. This is an 11 month position paid over 12 months. We offer a competitive salary, liberal leave policy, excellent health benefits and retirement plan, and an opportunity for a tuition free master’s degree for qualified individuals. The qualified candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field and preferably experience working with children. This position is located at the Annapolis campus.
