The Hanover Insurance Group is Hiring a Remote Insurance Law Operations Administrator

Our Office of the General Counsel is seeking an Insurance Law Operations Administrator to join our growing team in the Worcester, MA office. This is a hybrid, full time, exempt role.
Position Overview:
Under limited direction, assists and facilitates the daily legal operations of the Insurance Law Team and Compliance Senior Leaders, which typically includes involvement and exposure to confidential and/or proprietary information requiring the use of discretion and diplomacy. The Insurance Law Operations Administrator is a member of the Legal Operations Team who will directly support the Insurance Law VP, Group Counsel and the VP, Chief Compliance Officer, and other ILT attorneys, to manage routine and urgent assignments, projects and initiatives and provide traction toward execution of both tactical and strategic initiatives. This position will also collaborate with others both functionally and cross-functionally, be heavily involved in the matter management function, and be trained to review and manage legal service of process documentation for the entire enterprise.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Provides specialized operational and project support under limited direction to senior leaders of OGC, which typically includes exposure to confidential or proprietary information requiring use of judgment and discretion.
  • Planning and organizational support, including future planning (upcoming deliverables, identifying event conflicts, longer-range preparation/planning), managing calendars and schedules for multiple leaders, setting up meetings of varying sizes, locations, and complexities, and coordinating all travel arrangements / reservations / expense reporting.
  • Effectively leading and managing projects and/or programs that typically require operational support, often acting independently or with limited direction, and exercising business judgment.
  • Strong execution orientation, project/program coordination and legal service of process support.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity and resilience; Able to work in an environment at times with limited direction, with unplanned requests, competing priorities, and delayed responsiveness.
  • Maturity and ability to handle highly sensitive information.
  • Digital dexterity (particularly with effectively managing hybrid meetings and leveraging technology capabilities that support teamwork and collaboration). Utilizes advanced level software skills to provide administrative support by preparing special reports, confidential documents, presentations, maintaining data files, creating and managing spreadsheets of varying complexities.
  • Highly collaborative nature and expert adaptability.
  • Ability to effectively represent the Hanover’s Office of the General Counsel (both Legal and Compliance Teams) with internal and external high profile stakeholders and government officials.
  • Collaborate with the Insurance Law and Compliance teams to identify operational efficiencies, recommend, and help implement changes for streamlining processes and work coverage.
  • Responsible for the overall coordination and completion of basic and complex administrative responsibilities.
  • Responds to mail and e-mail inquiries, following up with other departments to ensure timely execution of and response to requests.
  • Other responsibilities may be required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Requires advanced administrative support and strong program/project management skills
  • Litigation experience would be a plus
  • Proven ability to manage outcomes
  • Capable of identifying opportunities for improvement, providing advice and recommendations for resolution
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management and proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving, influence and collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and other digital tools supporting Hybrid work environment
  • Flexibility in work schedule
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple and changing tasks and demands
  • Able to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels internally and external to the organization
  • Able to work both independently and as a team player with limited supervision
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in executive support and project management roles
