Our Personal Lines team is currently seeking an Assistant Vice President, People Engagement Leader to join our expanding team in Worcester, MA.
This is a full time, exempt role. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Personal Lines AVP, People Engagement Leader is a catalyst for the meaningful change needed to drive a people-first culture in the attainment of organizational objectives. With focus on advancing Personal Lines’ vision, mission and strategy, this role consults and informs people-impacting decisions and activities in a way that effectively supports employees through change efforts to achieve ongoing business performance improvement and transformational goals.
The PL People Engagement Leader and their team actively work with PL business owners, Hanover Human Resources, and other internal and external stakeholders to ideate, develop, and implement winning strategies to develop and retain PL talent in a dynamic, ever-evolving hybrid flex work environment. The PL People Engagement leader is responsible for PL-specific employee onboarding, learning, training, and development in pursuit of the in-role excellence and next role readiness of every individual within the Organization.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Oversee Learning and Development, Change Management and Communication, and Enrichment functions in support of all Personal Lines departments including but not limited to all five Operations’ verticals (e.g., Agent and Customer Service Experiences), Middle Market and Prestige Underwriting, Field Sales and State Management across 20 states, Product, Data Analytics, etc.
  • Manage program changes and overall program administration through data-driven inclusive decision-making and collaboration with internal partners.
  • Drive development and implementation of comprehensive PL People Engagement strategies backed by critical success factors and systems of measurement aligned to organizational goals, and successful operational management at scale.
  • Serve as strategic support in the design, development and implementation of operational change efforts in any PL business area, including adoption of digital transformation.
  • Strengthen and evolve existing Learning & Development programs and create new ones in alignment with the progression of our business operation and available technological innovations.
  • Design effective, holistic change management plans to support operational needs with the creation and sustainment of a change management mindset within and across the business to create employee readiness and engagement.
  • Develop, document and lead readiness activities and processes with cross-functional support teams ensuring successful delivery of initiatives, focused on impact analysis, business adoption, preparedness, and execution.
  • Maintain deep appreciation of Independent Agents’ operating models to align to continuously fresh point-of-view and the future skill set needs in Personal Lines.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Learning and Development, Change Management and Communication, and Employee Enrichment strategy and execution.
  • Knowledge of and successful related work experience and accomplishment in P&C industry, Personal Lines, critical business functions and roles strongly preferred.
  • Change and communication best practice designations strongly preferred.
  • Highly effective communication skills. Delivers messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. Adjusts communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to coach and provide constructive, actionable feedback to direct reports, peers, and leaders.
  • Demonstrates strong consultative, relationship building, interpersonal and influence skills in dealing with all levels of the organization and is effective at quickly establishing credibility and developing working relationships.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with PL Ops Leadership and other stakeholders to develop engagement strategies and deployment plans (aligning top down and bottoms up action planning efforts).
  • Skilled in strategic planning with ability to create cascading objectives and tactics.
