Job SummarySupport role for the Composites operation focused primarily on prepping fiberglass mat materials, finished goods packaging, receiving and inventory tasks. This position will work closely with the team lead(s) on what materials and activities are needed to support the production, shipping & delivery schedules. May also fill in for as needed on other various production equipment or support functions in the department.
Essential Job Functions:Process various rolls of fiberglass mat into sheet & slit roll format.Use a forklift and other material handling equipment to move pallets of fiberglass and load them onto glass sheeting and slitting machines.Read Work Order and setup glass sheeting & slitting machines for most efficient operation for current order(s).Prep & stage glass carts with sheeted glass packages for press molding operation.Prep & stage glass carts with slit glass packages for shape pultrusion operation.Own the work cell, maintain a clean and organized area.Communicate with supervisor on hot jobs and work order prioritiesFollow safety rules and quality standardsModel ethical and moral behavior consistent with the values and ideals supported by The Gund CompanyPackage finished sheet and shape goods per shipping & delivery schedule.Use a forklift to move pallets of finished goods to the packaging table.Follow packaging best practices to effectively package and secure materials to pallets for freight shipments.Assist in loading trailers and containers of packaged materials as needed.Receive in raw material deliveries.Use a forklift to unload trucks and move raw materials on pallets to their designated storage home locations.Label incoming materials with proper identification tags.Perform the inventory cycle count process.Receive raw material part IDs and quantities into ERP system.Coordinate with management on inventory discrepancies when discovered.Other supporting functions of role.Participate in cross training to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department.Move materials, supplies, components, and finished products between storage and work areas, using work aids such as carts, forklifts and hand trucksClean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hosesPerform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubricationRequirements:
Education and ExperienceEducation, Experience & CompetenciesA High School Diploma or GED is required. Basic to intermediate math skill.Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.Able to operate and drive sit-down Forklift.Windows computer operating system knowledge, Outlook, excel & ERP experience preferred.Must be able to work overtime as neededPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lb. drums, mixing bags and/or other related material. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions.
