Summary:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of a residential home to ensure a healthy, safe and high quality of life for home’s residents.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly schedule, monitor, supervise, and evaluate all staff within the assigned residence.
  • Participate in the hiring, interviewing and disciplinary action processes.
  • Provide the individuals who reside in the home an enriched quality of life in their community.
  • Ensure that all residential data collection systems, logs and records are up to date.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the home by overseeing day to day cleanliness and identifying repairs.
  • Oversee the homes food, supply and community activity expenditures, (DCF) clothing and personal needs expenditures and/or individuals’ personal household accounts.
  • Oversee usage, ordering and purchasing of individual household and health related supplies.
  • Complete all required reports and assessments using HCSIS (DDS) and E-SPED (DEEC.)
  • Ensure all incident reports, restraint reports and other documentation is completed related to all residential events and follow up on per Guild policy and the appropriate regulations.
  • Administer and record individuals’ medications in compliance with MAP.
  • Ensure all staff in the home administer and record individuals’ medications in compliance with MAP.
  • Ensure the development of the residential portion of ISP/IEP and subsequent reports designed to best meet the needs of each individual and ensure that they are turned in on schedule.
  • Ensure the implementation of all ISP/IEP objectives and related residential services for individuals who reside in the home.
  • Monitor individual’s progress to ensure that goals are appropriate on at least a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure that data sheets for ISP/IEP objectives are completed according to schedule and are updated as needed.
  • Coordinate and take individuals to Doctors’ appointments in collaboration with nursing.
  • Monitor all the individuals’ medications and coordinate with the pharmacy (or nursing in school aged programs) if orders are needed.
  • Facilitate communication between the home and day program(s) Facilitate communication within the home among staff persons working different shifts.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians, family members, stakeholder agency representatives
  • (DCF, DDS) on at least a weekly basis regarding individuals, their progress and their needs including sharing staffing information about the home and a schedule of both house and individual activities.
  • Be flexible; available to assist other residences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including weekends, holidays and inclement weather situations.
  • Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn from skilled professionals.
  • Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job.
  • Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportations of individuals
  • The ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent
  • Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI)
  • The ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the residence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, human services or related field required;
  • A high degree of effective oral and written communications skills in English
  • At least one year of residential management experience and two years direct support experience with developmental disabilities population required.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to demonstrate supervisor and administrative skills
  • Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.
  • MAP certification or ability to pass MAP within first 90 days.
  • Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs.
