The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center for Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We treat everyone with the same quality of care, regardless of their ability to pay. As an employee of TGC, you'll have the opportunity to help the most vulnerable population in Kansas. Most of our clients are below the poverty line and many experiences homelessness. We are the only provider that offers therapy, case management, psychosocial, and medication services all at the same site. We care greatly about our clients and are consistently moving towards a holistic model of care.

Early Childhood Respite Care Worker Primary Duties:

• Supervision of all children/youth receiving respite care
• Work with youth during structured activities to create a safe and productive environment.
• Encourage and support clients' efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact successfully with others
• Work respectfully and supportively with clients' parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries
• Transport clients to and from appointments and activities when necessary
• Hourly pay rate of $19.69. to $22.10; based on previous relevant experience
• Part-time schedule of approximately 11.5 hours per week; Friday 4:00pm-7:30pm and Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm

Early Childhood Respite Worker Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: High school graduate or GED required. Must be 21 years of age or older and have six months experience working with youth. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included.
• Preferred: One year of college course work or one year experience in the field of human services or a combination of each; experience working with youth with mental health issues.
