The Grand Resort Dermatology Medical Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare patient for exam, record patient’s information, purpose of visit and the patient’s medical history. Enter the information into EMR in a confidential and efficient manner.

• Prepare and stock exam rooms with necessary gowns and drapes, biopsy and surgical instruments and trays. Sanitize and restock exam rooms and medical equipment after each exam.

• Assist dermatologist during medical examination or procedure, apply wound dressings, remove sutures, instruct patients on proper usage of medications, after-visit summary or post-op care, draw-up injectable medications, administer IM or SQ medications, collect, log and package lab specimens for transport.

• Successfully complete phone triage as needed.

• With guidance from the dermatologist, notify patient of pathology and lab results.

• Communicate with the pharmacies and insurance companies as needed. Assist with prior authorizations.

• Schedule follow-up visits and medical procedures with patients.

• Assist with maintaining inventory of supplies, placing orders, and verifying receipt of orders as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• One to two years of experience in the medical field as a certified medical assistant.

• Excellent computer and communication skills.

• Experience in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.

• Ability to provide excellent patient treatment in an efficient, confidential and compassionate manner.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
