About us

As a seasonal grounds crew employee at Frosty Valley Resort, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Grounds Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming bushes, planting flowers, mulching, and edging to ensure a visually appealing environment for guests. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to support healthy plant growth
  • Equipment Operations: Operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, utility vehicles, and small hand tools in a safe and efficient manner. You may also assist with the maintenance and repair of equipment as needed
  • Course Setup: Assisting with course setup for tournaments, events, and daily play by placing tee markers, flagsticks, and signage in accordance with course standards and regulations. You will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure seamless transitions between maintenance and play
  • Bunker Maintenance: Raking and shaping bunkers to maintain consistent playing conditions and enhance the visual appeal of hazards. You will be responsible for ensuring that bunkers are free of debris and properly maintained to provide a fair challenge to golfers
  • Landscape Enhancement: Participating in landscape enhancement projects, such as planting or removing flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the beauty of the course. You will assist in mulching, weeding, and fertilizing landscape beds to promote healthy growth and vibrant colors throughout the season
  • Irrigation Management: Assisting in the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure proper hydration of turf and landscape areas. This includes monitoring water levels, adjusting sprinkler heads, and repairing any leaks or malfunctions to optimize turf health

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
  • Performs duties that occasionally require bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, and transporting standard items (weighing up to 50 pounds) The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of turfgrass management practices, irrigation systems, and equipment operation is beneficial
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and passion for delivering exceptional quality in all aspects of course maintenance
