Position Summary

The Senior Business Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to business partners. The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of stakeholder’s business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business opportunities.

The Scrum Master coordinates an agile development team, facilitates scrum ceremonies such as Daily Stand-Up meetings, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Business Demos and Sprint Retrospectives. Organizes and plans team assignments that can be completed within timeboxed iterations called Sprints and track team progress by leading daily stand-up meetings. Demonstrates strong knowledge of various well-documented Agile patterns and techniques such as Sprint Velocity, Sprint Burndown, Retrospective, Release planning and Resource Capacity planning.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between business and IT teams.
  • Collaborate with business units on enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivering measurable outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the development of business requirements, leveraging expertise in Agile methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with Product Owners and team members to practice healthy backlog management and prioritization practices.
  • Proactively remove impediments to team agility and guide the team on methods to escalate when needed to prevent issues from becoming blockers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the development of business/functional/systems requirements and process models through interviews, document analysis, workshops, and other tools during project planning activities and also through the change management process.
  • Identify, analyze, and document all current state business processes.
  • Analyze current business processes and needs and propose effective solutions to address those needs and improve efficiencies.
  • Assist in the development of project plans and milestones.
  • Manage business/functional/systems requirements and change requests during project execution and change management processes.
  • Work with Product Owner and other stakeholders within and outside of IT department to report on outcomes and results.
  • Provide templates, support, and guidance to all groups during the development of business continuity documentation.
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives promoting collaboration, communication, and conflict management.
  • Assist the scrum team to become a self-organized, cross-functional, and highly efficient team that delivers high-quality products. Clarify deliverables and assignments and remove impediments.
  • Provide senior leadership with metrics necessary to make decisions on resource capacity and planning.
  • Use DevOps to tracks team and team-members capacity based on tangible metrics.
  • Determine ways to improve throughput, Sprint Velocity and allow the team flexibility to self-manage themselves especially on items identified from the retrospective ceremonies.
  • Foster team responsibility, self-accountability, transparency, and self-organization.

Minimum Requirements

Functional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to deeply understand customer needs, preferences, and behaviors, and translate them into actionable insights and business requirements.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative, driving projects forward, and making decisions quickly and effectively to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility for project outcomes, with the ability to take ownership of initiatives from inception to implementation.
  • Aptitude for identifying opportunities to innovate and streamline processes, products, or services to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and credibility with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of work, from documentation and analysis to project execution and stakeholder management.
  • Agile Development Methodology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral) are required.
  • 12 years’ experience working with IT Applications and Technology Business Solutions. 
  • 10 years’ experience analyzing and documenting business/functional/systems processes, use cases and requirements.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach individuals in a scrum team.
  • Customize Agile principals to continuously improve team performance based on feedback.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practical experience defining, documenting, validating, and executing business use cases with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • In depth experience enterprise projects, systems implementation lifecycle, and defining Functional, business requirements, technical requirements using appropriate processes and methods.
  • Experience leveraging strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills within Information Technology disciplines such as business process reengineering, evaluation/selection and analysis of functions and features.
  • Experience with large scale solutions implementations in franchisor/franchisee business model would be a plus.
  • Working experience of projects and products delivery using the Agile, Scrum and Kanban would be a plus.

Highly Desired

  • Technical degree is preferred.

There will be periodic requirements to travel for in-person events, at the discretion of your manager or the requirement of the company.
