We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time Food Service Assistant/Teacher Assistant at The Goddard School of Deerfield. As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting all aspects of food management within our center. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. While a current food sanitation/food manager’s certificate is preferred, it is not required.
The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, totaling 20-25 hours per week. Please note that scheduled hours may vary slightly based on the needs of the school.

Daily Kitchen Responsibilities Include:

• Reheating and portioning meals and snacks according to USDA nutritional guidelines for children.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of prep table, floors, fridge, and pantry.
• Dishwashing and following a 3-step sanitizing system.
• Preparation of sanitizing bottles for classrooms.
• Managing inventory as needed.
• Assisting in other areas as assigned by management.

Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:

• Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
• Supporting the social and emotional development of each child.
• Cultivating positive and effective relationships with families.
• Collaborating with the lead teacher and fellow faculty members.

Job Qualifications:
An offer of employment is contingent upon meeting the following criteria:

• A current physical examination, including a tuberculin test.
• An approved criminal record check as mandated by state regulations.
• High school diploma required.
• Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with child handling, safety, and potential emergencies.
• Understanding and adherence to the school's food service policies and employment guidelines.
• Effective communication skills with school personnel, children, and parents alike.
