Visit arcfield.com for more details. Responsibilities Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise. Develops technical solutions to complex problems. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. Analyzes changes of product design to determine the effect on the end product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change. Designs and establishes management documentation. Authorizes the release of drawings, and software configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups. Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. May provide guidance to less experienced employees. Program Description: This program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an important Intelligence Community (IC) customer with a focus on critical, assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure. The contract support is part of the customer core team focused on all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle beginning with conops development, where we work directly with users, potentially going into harm's way, who will be dependent on these communications systems. We then capture and baseline their requirements and work closely with developers to deliver these essential capabilities. We get involved with setting up and running tests to ensure these cutting-edge capabilities will meet the stringent requirements and then we support transition to operations. Once in operations, our teams work closely with the users to make sure critical operations are successful, providing important information to support critical decisions by policy makers. The program also supports client acquisition strategy, future technology development, modernization efforts, as well as cyber and information assurance support. Specific Position Description: This is a part-time position (30-32 hours/week) located in Chantilly, VA. This position is contingent on winning the FALSTAFF competition. The duties for this position are focused on maintaining an extensive documentation baseline for a complex set of mission systems serving the customer organization's critical communications mission. This involves extensive coordination with all the systems engineers across the organization as they deal with new and changing requirements levied by the end users. The CM position is critical to ensuring systems engineers are following the Request for Change (RFC) process that includes coordinating decision briefings and gaining government approvals. Once the changes are approved, the changes will need to be promoted to the new baseline. The CM position is also responsible for maintaining the CM tools and document repositories and making recommendations for tool improvements as the program has recently transitioned from an older system. In addition to CM tasks, this position will also support other ad-hoc tasking from the gov't and contract PM. Qualifications Required: * 8 to 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors degree, 6 to 8 years with Masters degree
* (4 additional years of relevant experience in configuration management can be substituted)
* Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly
* The ability to work well within a team of engineers
* Demonstrated success in working with government customers.
Desired: * 5 years of experience with CM in support of a Commercial/Government acquisition of satellite/ground segment hardware/software.
* BA/BS in Project Management
* Experience with modern systems engineering CM tools for requirements management, including DOORs.
* Experience using workflow and document management tools like Jira/Confluence/Sharepoint, etc.
* Experience as a CM professional with an IC customer working with technical documentation.
