The primary purpose of this job is to ensure effective and profitable operations of the meat department through sales maximization and team member growth.
ASSISTANT MEAT MANAGERS ensure effective and profitable operations of the meat department through sales maximization and employee growth. Assistant Meat Managers ensure customers receive polite, friendly service; work with the Meat Manager in effective scheduling; ensure department is compliant with company standards and all state and federal laws; knowledge of product quality, origin, and preparation; ensure proper departmental sanitation and safe food handling practices; train and develop meat department associates; and implement and maintain an in-store culture that ensures growth. The Assistant Meat Manager takes complete ownership of the department including fresh and frozen meat and seafood and works closely with the DSD Receiver and Pricing Coordinator as well as performs all other duties assigned by management. The Assistant Meat Manager reports directly to the Meat Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be at least 18 years old
· Must be authorized to work in the US.
· Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand in order to complete job duties in a satisfactory manner and to comply with Company policies and safety regulations.
· Ability to lift 25lbs. consistently and 50lbs. occasionally
· Knowledge of meat and seafood operations
· Ability to supervise people, including training and development
· Effective interpersonal skills
· Ability to resolve workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner; and maintain positive Associate morale
· Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements on the job
· Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills
· Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts and operate a pallet jack for extended periods of time
· Perform P.A. announcements
PRIMARY ROLES
· Product Ordering / Inventory Control
· Process cuts for Service Counter or Special Orders

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
