Reports to Executive Director

Job purpose

To provide case management services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, stalking and human trafficking and their children

Duties and responsibilities

• Conduct client needs assessments and lethality assessments and develop personalized safety plans with clients and their children
• Provide program orientation to new clients and educate victims on dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault
• Assess individuals and families’ strengths and develop individualized service plans with each program participant
• Identify resources and link clients to community-based services
• Aid clients with gaining employment, connecting to mainstream resources and assist with developing their daily living skills
• Work collaboratively with direct service staff to ensure service provision
• Maintain a caseload of clients and work to empower each survivor, advocating on their behalf as needed
• Document service provision in electronic case management system
• Provide coverage for agency 24-hour hotline—providing crisis intervention, short-term counseling and accompaniment to court and magistrate offices to obtain protective orders and file criminal charges with victims
• Provide transportation to clients as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, in relevant field and at least one year of experience working with families in crisis
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Knowledge of dynamics of domestic and sexual violence
• Demonstrated ability to uphold confidentiality and take initiative to make sound decisions
• Must have exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively

Preferred:

• Experience working for a domestic violence services provider
• Knowledge of community resources and services

Working conditions

Salary based on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time position.
