About The Position

The Project Director fully implements the research study under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The Project Director is responsible for the recruitment of research participants, the conduct of the research protocol, the management of the data collection and analysis process, the oversight of the grant budget and the preparation of interim and final progress reports.

This position will be required to work on-site at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Determines the project schedule of research study
  • Supports allocation of appropriate resources
  • Oversees award administration and deliverables
  • Orchestrates process design and implementation of research study
  • Promotes safety and confidentiality of research participants at all times
  • Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and infection control procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing basic study related procedures as required
  • Maintains collaborative research environment between the Principal Investigator, other site personnel, research participants, The Geneva Foundation and the funding organization
  • Prepares interim and final progress reports
  • Participates in analysis of the data and the preparation of the manuscript, as applicable
  • Maintains an updated literature library of journal articles related to the research topic
  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of all research records
  • Maintains and update files of all applicable regulatory documentation for IACUC or IRB (including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required, Advanced Degree preferred
  • 4-6 years experience in research management preferred
  • 4-6 years non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
  • 3-5 years experience in planning, organizational, communications, and management skills
  • Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and posses a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to execute the vision of the organization in response to changing conditions
  • Ability to provide strong leadership, innovative thinking, creative planning, and effective motivation skills to staff
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities and available to interact with employees, clients and sponsors of all levels
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in fast-paced, high-pressured environment with strict deadlines and to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
