The Garage Community and Youth Center is a non-profit community-based youth center located in Kennett Square and Avondale, PA. While we’re located in small towns, we have urban environment because of the racially, culturally, and economically diverse student population we serve. Our mission is to empower at-risk middle and high school students to pursue their potential academically, relationally and spiritually. Our year round program is provided from late August to the end of July, and currently serves over 350 middle and high school students annually with tutoring, mentoring, community service and enrichment activities. Our priority is to develop relationships with students, and to provide them with both a place to belong and the resources to excel. All Staff must uphold and support the mission of The Garage and be able to clearly articulate the organization's mission, vision and values.

RESPONSIBLIITES:

• Support current Graduate Coordinator with implementation of the Career Compass Summer Internship Program
• Drive students to and from internship sites.
• Assist with weekly skill building programs for teenage students.
• Collect timesheets from student interns, check for accuracy, and submit to payroll.
• Document attendance in internal database system.
• Communicate with students, parents, and internship sites on a daily basis.
• Support Graduate Coordinator with program graduation event.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Genuine excitement for and ability to work with the Kennett and Avondale community.
• Experience working with youth.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
• Pass Criminal Background, Child Abuse, and Driving record checks

Position is part time, hourly, and temporary to the summer program from June 3rd, 2024 through July 31, 2024.

Hourly rate of $17 to $20, depending on experience

Typical weekly hours will be approximately 35-40 hours per week.

Typical work schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm
