SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis under the direction of the Vice President, Family Office will participate in growing the financial acumen of the Family Office. The Sr. Manager will apply financial planning and analysis skills specifically in the areas of 1) financial analysis, operational efficiencies and profitability, 2) provide timely and quality financial analysis and information to management, 3) development of various financial plans, budgets and forecast, 4) direction and support of Microsoft AX accounting system, 5) accounting for specific entities, and 6) ad hoc project or analytical support. This position will have a key role in process improvement projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development, review, analysis and presentation of monthly reporting package(s) to executive management and Friedkin Family members including but not limited to:
  • Review monthly financial results of the family entities
  • Identify unusual balances, trends, transactions for research or explanation
  • Ensure quality, accurate and timely reporting.
  • Development, coordination, review, analysis, presentation and enhancement of financial budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and other financial models across the Family Office and Family Entities including but not limited to:
  • Manage the annual business planning, budgeting and forecasting process for family entities
  • Routine forecast process for family entities
  • Other financial models that assist leadership in making key business decisions in designated areas
  • Lead, motivate, reward and develop direct reports to improve productivity and performance.
  • Development, review, analysis and presentation of external reporting to financial institutions, regulatory agencies, etc.
  • Interact with family accountants and/or family representation on a regular basis to:
  • Identity and quantify potential financial benefits of improvement ideas and initiatives
  • Assist in the development of performance measurements and other financial tools
  • Assist family entities in reporting and translating performance measurements so that they can drive changes
  • Assist with research and resolution of accounting transaction questions
  • Assist with setting the priorities, support level, direction, and enhancement of Microsoft AX accounting system.
  • Perform accounting for assigned entities as requested
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESOne or more non-supervisory associates. Responsibilities may include participating in and supporting project and process improvement teams.

QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or General Business from a four-year college or university; and eight (8) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MBA and/or CPA preferred but not required. Operational and finance experience critical to success.

  • Demonstrate business planning and coordination and finance skills.
  • Demonstrate computer skills and knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, Microsoft AX, databases, and mining tools.
  • Promote, coordinate, and support change.
  • Communicate effectively - orally and in writing.
  • Standard financial accounting principles

The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time and on a domestic basis).
