We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Expediter to join our team. As an "Expo", you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant.

Job Description:

As a Kitchen Expediter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. Your primary responsibility is to coordinate the flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining area, working closely with the chefs, line cooks, servers, and management team to maintain high standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order Coordination: Receive and review incoming food orders from servers or the POS system, ensuring accuracy and completeness before relaying them to the kitchen staff.
  • Timing and Prioritization: Monitor the progress of food orders and communicate timing expectations to the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes according to guest preferences and restaurant standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect plated dishes for presentation, portion size, and adherence to recipe specifications before sending them out to the dining area. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams, relaying special requests, dietary restrictions, and guest feedback to the kitchen staff for accommodation and adjustment.
  • Problem-Solving: Anticipate and resolve potential bottlenecks or delays in the kitchen workflow by proactively coordinating tasks, adjusting priorities, and reallocating resources as needed.
  • Sanitation and Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expediting station and surrounding areas, adhering to food safety standards and health code regulations at all times.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to foster a positive and cohesive work environment, providing assistance and support as needed to ensure overall operational success.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
