Primary purpose: Maintain and grow the existing customer base through prospecting, sales development, quoting, and customer follow-up, while providing unbeatable customer service with a positive attitude. 

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Quoting and Estimation: Provide accurate and detailed price quotes and building material estimates for customers based on their blueprints, demonstrating proficiency in estimating software and product knowledge.
  • Customer Engagement: Visit job sites to monitor work progress, identify customer needs, and target new prospects, leveraging in-depth product knowledge to educate customers and assist them with purchasing decisions.
  • Product Expertise: Develop an in-depth understanding of the products and services offered by Franklin Building Supply, staying updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Sales Strategy: Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell products and services, regularly evaluate customer accounts, and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales growth.
  • Special Orders Management: Collaborate with the Account Coordinator to acquire special orders and meet customer needs efficiently, ensuring accurate processing and timely fulfillment.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and subcontractors, providing exceptional service and addressing their needs promptly and professionally.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with coworkers, demonstrating a team-oriented mindset, self-motivation, and adaptability to contribute to the overall success of the sales team.

Requirements

 Required:

  • Sales Experience: 5 years of proven sales experience, demonstrating a track record of success in prospecting, sales development, and customer relationship management.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changes in the building industry, learn new products and processes, and leverage evolving market trends to grow the customer base and market share.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to modify daily schedules to address unplanned urgencies, remain calm under pressure, and effectively resolve customer concerns or issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Give great attention to detail, demonstrating excellent organizational skills and accuracy in quoting, order processing, and customer service.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds throughout the day, ensuring readiness to assist with material handling and customer support tasks.
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, enabling travel to customer sites and other business locations.
