CMM Programmer/Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, operating and maintaining CMMs to ensure accurate and precise measurements of machined parts and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metrology principles, proficiency in CMM software and experience in manufacturing or quality control environments.

Responsibilities:

- Program CMMs using Calypso software to create measurements routines for inspecting machined parts.

- The parts inspected are single linear dimensions and complete 5-axis parts.

- Set up and operate CMM equipment to conduct measurements according to engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards.

- Perform routine maintenance and calibraton of CMM machines to ensure accuracy and reliability of measurements.

- Analyze measurement data and generate comprehensive reports detailing dimensional characteristics and deviations from specified tolerances.

- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues related to part dimensions and tolerances.

- Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize inspections processes and enhance overall product quality.

- Maintain documentation and records of inspection results, calibration activities and equipment maintenance to comply with quality management system requirements.

- Train and mentor junior staff members of CMM programming and operation techniques as needed.

- Excellent communication skills

Requirements:

-High School Diploma or equivalent

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.

- Proven experience as a CMM programmer and operator in a manufacturing or quality control environment.

- Proficiency in Calypso CMM software.

- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.

- Excellent analytical and program solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

- Knowledge of metrology techniques and measurement equipment.

- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.

- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Certification in CMM programming and operations is a plus.
