The Fountains at Mill Cove is Hiring a RN Unit Manager/Infection Control Nurse Near Jacksonville, FL

We are seeking an Unit Manager who is as passionate about the care that their team provides to our residents as we are. This is an opportunity for you to join our caring group of clinicians.

The Unit Manager supervises the day to day operations of the clinical team in a Skilled Nursing community. You will support and practice the philosophy, objectives and standards of the Department of Nursing and participate in the revision of these as necessary to ensure quality care to all patients/residents.

In this role you will:

· Assesses the needs and development of residents and implement comprehensive care plans accordingly

· Conduct resident rounds to assess an/or supervisor nursing care, assess condition of residents and ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.

· Assist in recruiting and selects nursing employees appropriate to facility need and budgetary guidelines

· Work in establishing and facilitating effective employer/employee relations

· Maintain adequate staffing ratios and levels of preparation to meet the needs of patients/residents

· Complete follow-up investigations on incidents/accidents and provides, or arranges for follow-up education as indicated.

· Works with the interdisciplinary team members in developing a discharge plan for individual residents.

· Participate in associate evaluations and administers disciplinary action as requested

· Follow up with pharmacy recommendations to assure response and implementation of order changes

Requirements

  • Current active RN licensure in the state where employed.
  • BSN / MSN degree preferred.
  • Three to five years progressive management experience in a long-term, sub-acute or post-acute care setting preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours to support state and federal resident care requirements.
  • Superior customer service aptitude and approach.

· Must be able to understand the dominant language of the facility, English, must be able to speak, read and write English.

· Must be able to work at a fast pace, independently and as a team member with the ability to complete all job tasks within assigned time

· Must be able to demonstrate good sound judgment in every interaction especially when rendering care to a resident

Physical Requirements:

Mobility Skills include the ability to be highly visible within the facility, able to be mobile within the building and its external parameters. Must be able to stand up to 75-100% of the work day. Will be required to bend frequently using knees and wait up to or exceeding 75% of the work day. Must be able to lift 50lbs or greater, able to push and pull up to 50lbs or greater. Must be able to hear and see with the use of hearing aid and assistive corrective eyewear if necessary.
