The Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court is Hiring a Criminal Court Case Manager (Court Program Specialist II) Near Beach, FL

SUMMARY

SALARY: $48,072.02 (annual salary of $45,669.96 plus competitive area differential pay of $2,402.04) .
This position is responsible for developing and employing effective case management procedures that assist with the identification and coordination of Criminal Court cases. This position manages all of the judicial destruction orders in a timely manner, screens all Risk Protection filings, reviews and manages inactive criminal cases, tracks and monitors supersedeas bonds, maintains a calendar of arraignment dates, and works closely with law enforcement to ensure correct dates are provided to individuals bonding out of the jail. The Criminal Court Case Manager serves as a liaison between the judiciary, law enforcement, and court administration while working under direct supervision of the Director of Case Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Conducts case review and presents data to judges
  • Works with the Court Administrative staff to analyze trends and prepare statistical reports.
  • Composing and maintaining court orders, calendars, correspondence, memoranda, reports, e-mails and other documents
  • Provide administrative assistance in the area of Criminal
  • Exercise independent judgment and initiative
  • Establish working relationships with judges, court personnel and professionals associated with the legal community and the general public
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Case Management.
The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this classification.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public or Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field and three (3) years of experience working in a business or court setting; or equivalent combination of related training and experience.

Relevant experience and/or education may substitute for the recommended minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly organized; demonstrate close attention to detail and the ability to work in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of the legal system and terminology
  • Knowledge of the criminal process and documents filed at various states of criminal proceedings
  • Skill in analyzing court files for appropriate pleadings and legal documentation
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and to establish work priorities
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely and logically, both orally and in writing with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive issues before the court
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, database software applications, legal electronic case management /electronic case filing system, and scanning and image creation software
  • Ability to interact in a professional, courteous manner and maintain effective working relationships with other court personnel and outside agencies, legal professionals, litigants, and the general public
  • Ability to interpret, explain and apply laws, rules, policies and procedures such as the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure, Rules of Judicial Administration, Summary Reporting System, and Uniform Case Reporting
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be extremely computer literate and able to work in a paperless/file-less system
