The Fedcap Group is Hiring a Community Coach Near New York, NY

Position Summary:

Responsible for conducting outreach and serving as liaisons and motivators by building community knowledge of Jobs-Plus program; attending community events and NYCHA resident meetings as representatives of the program; promoting engagement in program and gathering referrals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures Jobs-Plus positive community presence-building through one-on-one meetings with residents.
  • Assists the Career Development Specialists and Assistant Director in the development and building of a network of community partnerships.
  • Performs outreach activities within the service area as assigned by the Assistant Director.
  • Serves as a liaison between residents/members and the Jobs-Plus program staff.
  • Assists with planning and organizing community workshops and fundraising events.
  • Updates and maintains geographic referral lists in FedcapCARES.
  • Assists members in navigating intake processes with external providers.
  • Facilitates communication with community partners.

Education and Experience:

  • A High School Diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent experience; some post-secondary training preferred.
  • Verified resident of housing developments in service area. Enrolled in JP or will be enrolled in JP upon hire.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience; work experience with community agencies and/or service providers preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining social media presence.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and be sensitive to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in working with public assistance recipients, formerly incarcerated individuals and those affected by the challenges associated with poverty.
