Job Description Wage/Salary: $100k - $110k OB PURPOSE: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Director of Accounting in ensuring the timely, complete, and accurate presentation of financial activities for the Fedcap Group in compliance with US GAAP.
JOB SUMMARY : The Accounting Supervisor will supervise senior/staff accountants in preparing the detailed month-end close journal entries for each unit s/he is responsible for. They will ensure that the team stays on schedule, delivers required tasks, and makes judgment calls where necessary to support the finance team in the production of monthly reporting packages.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Work with the Director of Accounting to identify priorities, schedules, and KPIs for senior/staff accountants under their supervision.
2. Supervises the delegation of work: detailed financial data collection and review from various departments and sources. Ensures that all relevant journal entries to transfer or distribute the data to the general ledger are performed on a timely & accurate basis.
3. Identifies and investigates unusual or unexpected items and reports them to the Director of Accounting during the month-end close.
4. Reviews preliminary financial data for reasonability, providing an analysis of variances to budget. Identifies adjusting entries as needed.
5. Liaises with operational managers and local finance teams to resolve issues and ensure that the financial results fairly present the business operations of the unit. Meets regularly with operational staff to provide feedback about historical results and action items going forward.
6. Reviews all journal entries for the business units assigned to them for accuracy prior to posting to the general ledger.
7. Advises staff under his/her supervision on more complex entries.
8. Suggests improvements to processes and procedures.
9. Performs annual performance reviews of staff members under his/her supervision and identifies retention/replacement strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS : Job qualifications are stated in the Essential Functions of the job description. An employee must be able to accomplish the Essential Functions to be competent in the job. Other special requirements are noted below.
Education: Master's degree in Accounting preferred, with CPA licensure desirable.
Job Experience:
- Seven to ten (10) years' of progressive experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working in a nonprofit is highly desirable.
- Supervisory experience in a large, complex, multi-faceted organization.
Software Skills:
- Excel (pivot tables/Vlookup proficiency), ERP software, ideally Oracle.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills in Oracle, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Outlook, Salesforce, and other related software.
Equipment Skills: Efficient use of computers and general office equipment.
Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Work Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office environment but may be required to perform job duties outside of the office setting.
Special Schedule: Normal business hours; At times, must be willing to work in beyond normal business hours as needed by operational needs and event schedules.
