The Center for Family Support (CFS) mission is to provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental and related disabilities. We are the first agency in New York to achieve the Council on Quality and Leadership Certification (CQL). By achieving this certification, it shows our commitment and dedication to creating services that enhance and improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.Chief People & Culture OfficerPosition SummaryThe CPO is a strategic leader who is responsible for reimagining the Center for Family Support Inc.'s people function, culture, structure, and policies. They will play a key role in developing and implementing best practices and strategies that advance the Center for Family Support Inc.'s efforts to be a high-performance organization that is fueled by a skilled, engaged, and diverse workforce and inclusive culture. The CPO will serve as a thought partner to the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and will work in close partnership with the executive team, Human Resources Teams, and staff located across New York City to develop and implement a people-centric vision as an organization that attracts essential talent, ensures people are highly engaged in the mission, work and culture of the organization. The CPO for the Center for Family Support Inc. is a member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for providing leadership and advisory services with regards to leadership, coaching, employee engagement and relations, talent acquisition, development and retention, culture, compensation, organizational design and change, organizational and performance management, training and development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing a human resources plan aligning with the organization's overall mission and strategy. 
  • End-to-end management of HR functions, including creating recruitment strategy and talent programs to ensure acquisition of top talent.
  • Serving as a leader across the organization, driving innovation and change.
  • Creating a collaborative, inclusive culture that attracts top talent. Direct oversight of Talent and Engagement Director . 
  • Developing relationships with all levels of the organization. 
  • Proactively managing resource allocation and maintaining a competitive approach to recruiting and retaining high-potential talent. 
  • Executive oversight of comprehensive Human Resources functions. 
  • Executive oversight of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives and direct supervision of Chief DEIB Officer. 
  • In collaboration with DEIB officer drive progress and communication of our DEIB strategy.
  • Executive oversight of Professional Development and Training department.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and support to the executive team and colleagues. 
  • Managing budget: OTPS and PS resources; identifying new needs and alignment with the business goals. 
  • Ensuring the business remains in compliance with OPWDD, DOHMH and DDD /NJDHS Policies, rule, and all related regulatory agency requirements. 
 
  • Collaborating and coordinating operations with OPWDD and DDD Human Resources Division, Legal Affairs, Labor Relations, Affirmative Action / EEO. 
This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of human resources, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to lead, manage, influence, and shape organizational change. It's a critical role that will help the Center for Family Support Inc. become a high-performance organization with a skilled, engaged, and diverse workforce. EducationBachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational psychology or related field required.Master’s Degree or MBA in Human Resources preferred.ExperienceExtensive executive leadership experience in human resources, including roles such as HR Director or vice president of Human Resources. Experience working with C-Suite or Executive leadership. Experience in the nonprofit or social justice/social services space is a plus.Certifications such as SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), is preferred but not required.SkillsThe ability to act as a liaison between the CEO, department heads, and employees. Extensive HR experience and knowledge of labor and employment law. A high level of emotional intelligence.
