Position Summary: Provides a safe, secure and supportive residential environment for all clients and guests. Monitors daily activity throughout shelter to ensure client safety in facility.

Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, sociology or similar with 6 months of experience working in a residential facility, shelter, or similar environment OR an Associates Degree and any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Texas Drivers License and clear driving record
Knowledge and Skills and Abilities:
Mental and Physical Abilities: Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs).
Working Conditions: Work may be performed, but is not limited to an office environment. Ability to work some weekends, evenings and overnight hours.

Food Handler license or able to obtain within 2 weeks of hire.
Knowledge and Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of domestic violence and client trauma.
Knowledge of basic food preparation.
Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
Skilled in verbal de-escalation and crisis management.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR training and maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
Ability to maintain a clear and valid Texas drivers license.
Ability to communicate in both written and verbal formats to meet position responsibilities.
Ability to be sensitive to the language, economic and cultural needs of clients.
Ability to travel to offsite locations and attend off-site meetings and events.
Maintains professional boundaries with clients at all times.
Protects client confidentiality.

The Family Place provides free, comprehensive services that prevent violence and fully support women, children and men on their path from fear to safety. In 2013, we provided services to a total of 11,758 clients with 171,968 hours of service in Spanish and in English. When families are in our care, we work to meet all of their needs. At our Safe Campus, we feed more than 50 kids every day, providing meals and after-school snacksthats 18,250 after-school snacks a year! We go through more than 3,000 tubes of toothpaste and 3,600 bottles of shampoo each year.
