The School Counselor promotes and enhances the overall academic mission of The Experiential School of Greensboro (TESG) by promoting student success, providing preventive services, responding to identified student needs with a comprehensive counseling program. The School Counselor significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe, and caring environment and advances the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success along with the implementation of effective intervention strategies. The School Counselor must value all children and advocate for children and families. The successful applicant will be open to learning about differing needs and expectations of families and understand the importance of equity pedagogy in practice. The School Counselor should be open to new ideas, able to take initiative when needed and be committed to working collaboratively.

The individual should be self-directed; organized with attention to detail; in possession of strong interpersonal relationship skills (including collaboration with community members, school personnel), highly motivated and uses evidence-based practices; and willing to learn the duties/responsibilities/ expectations of the work and operations of TESG; and must illustrate a commitment to creating caring school relationships and culture.

Qualifications
Masters of School Counseling degree, current/valid NC school counseling license, at least two years of experience as a school counselor, working with diverse populations, working on multidisciplinary teams, and experience completing functional behavioral assessments.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
