Middle School ELA Teacher (Full Time)

A highly qualified candidate will:

• Have a Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Education or Bachelors/Masters in English with current NC Teacher Certification.
• Be proficient in the Common Core Standards or NC essential related to their field
• ELA certification in middle school language arts
• Be familiar or be willing to learn standards based grading.
• Be familiar with Google Classroom or willing to learn
• Have a Growth Mindset, flexible and willing to grow
• Be proficient in discussion-based learning methods such as Socratic Seminar
• Be proficient with ways to assist special needs students, including students on the spectrum
• Work to achieve school philosophy and policies, including using project based learning
• Be able and willing to collaborate with other staff
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents
• Support 8th grade transition meetings, IEP meetings, and high-school course sign-up

Salary: NC State Salary Scale 15% School Supplement
