Essential Job Duties
- Perform monthly close process; post journal entries and complete account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records; perform audits and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with all company policy and procedures
- Document and monitor internal controls
- Maintain trailer accounting and compile budget to actual analysis
- Analyze and record expense for insurances enrolled by independent contractors
- Maintain accounting procedures and deductions for our national tire program
- Review and analyze our balance forward payees
- Compile a monthly and quarterly balance sheet fluctuation analysis
- Handle the collections process for payees
- Ad valorem tax preparation
- Compile, analyze, and report on financial data; present data to management
- 2 years in an Accounting position
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field or equivalent level of prior experience
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles GAAP
- Demonstrated knowledge of auditing processes/practices
- Basic computer skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Experience meeting deadlines
