The Emerge Center is Hiring a Registered Line Technician Near Baton Rouge, LA

Main Purpose of the Role: Registered Line Therapists (RLT) work directly with clients under the supervision of a licensed professional in our Applied Behavior Analysis department. RLTs provide high quality, therapeutic services to address communication, behavioral, social, and self-help delays as directed by their supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities (Full Time):

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings following the treatment plan developed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
  • Follow the prescribed skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Follow the prescribed toileting and self-help skills protocols such as dressing and tooth brushing.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on client behavior as prescribed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst.
  • Accurately complete all therapeutic, supervision, and billing documentation within 24hrs of service completion.
  • Interact with staff, parents, and clients in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training as instructed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
  • Assist with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments as instructed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst.
  • Assist with preparation of client materials as instructed.
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
  • Support and supervise clients during leisure activities including lunch and play time.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
  • Abide by the code of ethics as published by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment including sanitizing toys, work surfaces, and seats as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
  • Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
  • Accept constructive feedback and develop skill sets accordingly
  • Actively participate in supervision sessions with a supervisor which may include individual, small group, and large group settings.
  • Attend all required staff meetings.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Licensed Behavior Analyst, Director of ABA Services, or Clinic Director.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to follow all prescribed treatment plans including but not limited to those developed for children who may engage in aggressive behaviors
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
  • Must be able to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location which may include clinic, school, and community placements.
  • Must complete required training course including teaching methods, policies and procedures, ethics, safety, and other topics.
  • Must acquire and maintain all required certifications including, but not limited to: CPR, Registered Line Technician certification through the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board, and Registered Behavior Technician certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High-school diploma or national equivalent from an accredited institution is required; college degree is preferred.
  • Experience in education, child development, psychology, or Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism and their families is preferred.
