POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for conducting maintenance, repairs and construction projects on the grounds, buildings, and fences within the habitat and offices.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Repair fencing, office buildings and barns and provide general maintenance to all structures

· Participate in recycling and waste management program to include all aspects of The Sanctuary

· Provide maintenance to habitat road pathways

· Perform or arrange for vehicle and equipment repairs

· Maintain grounds, plant trees and landscape property

· Mow, weed and perform other related tasks as needed

· Haul and dispose of animal waste

· Works with contractors for outsourced projects

· Other duties as assigned.

Level 1 Maintenance Technician

· Basic equipment training

· Basic equipment upkeep and care

· Housekeeping (Shop, Office, Tools, Equipment)

· Basic team communication and teamwork

· Proficient in work order software, computer and radio communication

Level 2 Maintenance Technician

· Good general skills and knowledge (welding, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, heavy equipment operation)

· Basic knowledge of all barns and operating systems

· Demonstrates good problem solving skills

· Produces and completes quality work with little to no need for follow up

· Communicates well with Ops and all other departments, service is responsive and helpful

· Good safety practices

· Team player

· Helps train new employees

Level 3 Maintenance Technician

· Proficiency with various skill sets (welding, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, heavy equipment)

· Excels and/or certified as master class technician in one or more skill set

· Excellent understanding of TES operating systems at all facilities

· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with resolutions

· Works independently and takes initiative to plan and complete projects

· Excellent quality standards requiring no project follow up

· Excellent team player and important asset, working and communicating effectively to support all departments

· Acts as a mentor and guide for new employees

· Ensures safe practice for the department and supports safety needs across the organization

· Assists with planning and implementing projects as requested

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.08 - $20.00 per hour
