Job Summary:
Plan, supervise and implement a well-rounded, academically aligned curriculum. Develop, plan and supervise activities during school vacation weeks and other days off from school. Responsible for supervising and demonstrating the ability to set and maintain limits for children using positive reinforcement. Maintain the necessary records involving attendance, proper release procedures, program registrations and documents required for state licensing. Ensure that the proper procedures regarding vehicle use are always followed. Responsible for attending staff meetings/events. Demonstrate and teach the character development values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty. Continually enhance professional development through workshops, educational courses and/or appropriate reading material/ Licensing requires the completion of a minimum of 24 hours training per year relevant to the care of school age children. Provide leadership in program operations, staff development, training, program administration, and human resource management. Create, plan and organize all staff meetings and agendas. Ensure staff follows all policies and procedures of ELC and DHS. Develop family involvement programs. Create and revise school policies and procedures. Work to increase enrollment of school and increase revenue. Record, approve and enter payroll. Perform daily office tasks: tuition deposits, newsletters, non-compliance forms, fire drills, state inspections and state food programs. Create after school curriculum and field trips for school age children. Create job postings, conduct interviews, hiring and termination of staff when needed. Resolve issues, concerns and complaints that parents have with the school. Hours: 8:30-5:30 M-F.
Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Excellent organizational skills: attention to detail, ability of prioritize, and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. At least two years’ experience managing multiple staff (in a preschool setting preferred). Demonstrated ability to analyze data and prepare analytical reports. Exemplary writing, interpersonal, and communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. Bachelor's degree required. Expertise in data analysis and using data, broadly defined, to improve programs and instruction. Demonstrated leadership capacity; ability to inspire and manage others.
Education and/or Experience: The site coordinator shall be at least 21 years of age and shall meet one of the following: Hold a bachelor’s degree in a field relating to education, child development, human services or recreation from an accredited or approved institution of higher education; and have a minimum of one years' supervised experience working with school age children in a group setting (field placements and student teaching will be counted toward this requirement) or Hold an Bachelor's degree in a field relating to education, child development, human services or recreation from an accredited or approved institution of higher education; and have a minimum of two years' supervised experience working with school age children in a group setting (field placements and student teaching will be counted toward this requirement).
Reasoning Ability: Ability to anticipate, identify and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. To accurately complete all required paperwork. To professionally handle and/or get help to resolve conflict. Ability to follow instructions as given and/or directed by supervisor.
