Job Summary:
The Grant Administrator plays a pivotal role in the fundraising efforts of The dReam Center Church of Atlanta. They are responsible for identifying grant opportunities, preparing grant applications, securing grants of all types, and assisting in the management of approved grants in specified functional and program areas. This position requires independent judgment to determine courses of action, ability to develop and articulate presentations of facts and support conclusions and recommendations. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this individual will collaborate with the development team, program managers, and external partners to secure funding to support the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Research and Identification:
  • Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities (federal, state, and local) that align with the organization's mission and programs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of grant prospects, deadlines, and requirements.
Grant Proposal Development:
  • Write and prepare grant proposals, grant applications, and supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with program managers to gather information and data needed for proposals.
  • Ensure all proposals are submitted on time and in accordance with grant guidelines.
Relationship Building:
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with foundation and grant-making organizations.
  • Attend meetings, webinars, and networking events to stay updated on grant-related opportunities.
Grant Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure that grants are administered in compliance with all grant agreements.
  • Prepare and submit grant progress reports as required by funding sources.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to grants.
Budget Management:
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop grant budgets and financial reports.
  • Monitor grant expenditures to ensure funds are utilized effectively and within budget.
Evaluation and Impact Assessment:
  • Track the impact of grant-funded programs and initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data to demonstrate the success of funded projects to grantors and stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly reports on funded and non-funded project status.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Work closely with the development team to align grant opportunities with overall fundraising strategies.
  • Assists in setting short and long-range goals for the department relating to financial and informational data processing needs and technology.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business, etc.); Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of grant administration experience in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in grant management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and grant compliance regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
