The Downs Racetrack and Casino is Hiring a Bars and Concessions Manager Near Albuquerque, NM

Supervising the day to day operations of Bar and Concessions outlets for the Casino and Racetrack. Ensuring that all products served meet the established standards. Communicates with Chef, kitchen supervisors and/or Food and Beverage Director regarding food and beverage service. The Beverage and Concessions Manager is responsible for providing and creating a fun, exciting and profitable environment. Responsibilities include the successful execution of service related operations within the established operational standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises all aspects of Beverage and Concessions served to guests in all outlets with primary focus being the Racetrack during the live racing season.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work assignments.
  • Ensures the highest possible standards of guest service are provided and listens and responds to guest and employee concerns and questions.
  • Works directly with the Director of Food and Beverage to plan and prepare schedules for all food and beverage outlets.
  • Facilitates closing reports and cash drops.
  • Maintains required documents on site as required by the New Mexico Liquor Control Act, Alcohol and Gaming and the Special Investigations Unit.
  • Ensures proper auditing of inventory, cost control systems and procedures under the direction of the Food and Beverage Director.
  • Works with the Accounting and IT Departments to ensure that all revenues and labor costs are captured and reported accurately.
  • Soliciting guests’ feedback by direct interaction; maintaining a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment for employees and guests.
  • Ensuring that all service and POS equipment is handled safely and with reasonable care, reporting mechanical problems to the proper department for repair.
  • Coaching, reinforcing, and leading employees by creating a positive and supportive environment; enforcing all regulatory, internal controls, policies and procedures; abiding and enforcing all appearance and uniform guidelines.
  • Places product orders for the Racetrack food and beverage outlets including food, beer, wine, alcohol, mixers, and fruit and paper goods on a weekly basis.
  • Approves requisitions and oversees transfers of all product to other designated locations.
  • Ensures that casino, property and departmental goals are identified, achieved and positive results are maintained
  • Manages and maintains security of confidential information entrusted to position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. 5 years of supervisory, server and bartender experience.

3. Must be at least 21 years of age.

4. Must possess a New Mexico Alcohol Certification.
