We are seeking a(n) Attractions Manager for Dollywood Resorts who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand.

This individual is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while ensuring the success and profitability of our unique offerings. They also bring fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity, and genuine hospitality to their life and work. We seek an individual who can bring the vision of the resorts to life. The right Attractions Manager checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

The Attractions Manager is responsible for working with the Director of Attractions in leading the day-to-day aspects of park operation including, but not limited to, rides and attractions, centralized scheduling, enhanced experiences, support areas, employee training, audits, and continued development of the team. This includes budgeting, hiring, training, supervising, developing, and evaluating Attractions Supervisors, Team Leads, Safety Trainers and Attractions Hosts. The Attractions Manager is also responsible for achieving safety, line speed/throughput, friendliness, cleanliness and financial goals. They serve as the Person-In-Charge (PIC) of the Park and Operations Team.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation and monitoring of programs for cleanliness, friendliness, theme and safety as part of the overall Guest Excellence objectives.
  • Manage the implementation and operation of Team, Safety, Maintenance and HFE best practices.
  • Monitor operations for compliance and coordinate actions with Safety and Maintenance Teams.
  • Develop and coordinate operating procedures with the Operations Management Team.
  • Supply Mobaro, Ride throughput, and Line speed data to the Operations team.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor team budgets to control expenses in all areas.
  • Supply team with data weekly to manage all areas.
  • Implement and maintain an employee development program that results in growth-oriented training plans.
  • Develop and implement plans that grow qualified Supervisors and Team Leads, resulting in a minimum of a 70% promotion rate from within the Operations Division.
  • Develop, review, and implement ride/safety manuals, sign-offs and training procedures.
  • Audit Operational areas to ensure compliance with Park and HFE policies.
  • Facilitate and participate in regular communications as a Parks and HFE initiative Super User. Example: Mobaro, DocuSign, iAuditor, time keeping system/etc.
  • Develop and implement strategic and long-range plans for the Attractions Division.
  • Maintain files for the Director and Team to use successfully.
  • Provide timely communication to other Departments, Team Supervisors, and Director.
  • Establish and maintain an environment that results in positive employee relations by practicing Servant Leadership skills.
  • Provide timely evaluation of direct report hosts.
  • Assist the Director of Attractions in providing creative leadership in the development, implementation, and monitoring of all business units, rides, attractions, centralized scheduling, enhanced experiences, safety reporting, maintenance reporting, and new product research and development.
  • Establish and maintain a climate that results in positive awareness with an emphasis on the importance of safe operation.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring Dollywood Safety Procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required such as, but not limited to, serving as a Ride or Parking Host, facilitating disciplinary actions, etc. and making decisions as requested by the Director of Attractions.
  • Interact and assist with other divisions to positively impact Dollywood.
  • Recognize and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Handle problems and monitor park operations as the Person in Charge (PIC).
  • Serve as backup to the Director in his or her absence to perform additional duties such as, but not limited to, conducting Team Lead meetings, attending Operational Readiness meetings, etc. and making decisions as requested by the Director of Attractions.
  • Personal hygiene is extremely important. Wardrobe is to be professional, neat, clean, and must be worn at all times while working on park.
  • Must be available to work any shift during all operating times, and may be asked to work past their scheduled shift.
  • Must be available and willing to work at different locations on park, using equipment such as, but not limited to, cash registers, calculators, and computers.
  • Work during the off-season may include, but is not limited to, establishing and enacting plans regarding park operations, performance appraisals, and developing and revising job descriptions. These duties may involve formulating and implementing management policies or operating practices, and employee must be able to carry out major assignments while performing work in a manner that acknowledges its effect on business operations and the financial impact.

Education and Experience Required

  • Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have 3 – 5 years successful experience in supervisor/manager position in a guest service oriented company. College degree in business, management, communications, recreation or related field beneficial, but not necessary.
  • Enthusiastic and able to establish a climate in which others are motivated to succeed.
  • Team player capable of coordinating support with other Dollywood teams.
  • Proven skills in time management, short and long term planning and strong organizational skills to be able to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Working knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher)
  • Experience in work situations in which safety training and compliance is a high priority, is helpful.

  • Able to train on and drive all motor vehicles used in operations–tram, truck, and golf cart.
