Job Title: Doggy Daycare Companion

Job Summary:

The doggy daycare companion is responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and happiness of dogs at the daycare facility. They will engage in play, provide affection, and monitor the behavior and health of dogs under their care. The companion will maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating environment for dogs to socialize and enjoy their time while their owners are away.

Shifts:

Monday-Friday: 6 AM- 1 PM or 1 PM - 8 PM

Weekends: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Responsibilities:

1. Dog Supervision:

  • Provide constant supervision to ensure the safety and security of all dogs in the daycare.
  • Monitor and manage interactions between dogs to prevent any unwanted behavior or conflicts.
  • Be alert to signs of stress, discomfort, or illness in dogs and promptly report and address any concerns to the supervisor.

2. Exercise and Play:

  • Engage with dogs in play activities, ensuring they receive appropriate exercise and mental stimulation.
  • Play games and provide interactive play sessions according to each dog's individual needs and owner's request.
  •  Encourage socialization and positive interactions among dogs to promote healthy relationships.

3. Feeding and Medication:

  • Follow instructions provided by the owners and management for feeding schedules, dietary requirements, and administering medications.
  • Ensure that all dogs have access to fresh water at all times and monitor food consumption.
  • Administer medications, if necessary, according to the prescribed instructions.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and hygienic daycare environment by regularly cleaning up any accidents, waste, or messes.
  • Clean and sanitize play areas, toys, and equipment to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a safe environment.
  • Regularly check and maintain the cleanliness of kennels, bedding, and other areas used by dogs.

5. Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their dogs' behavior, eating habits, and overall well-being.
  • Report any concerns or unusual behavior observed during the day to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with owners, answering questions and providing guidance.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with dogs in a daycare, kennel, veterinary clinic, or other dog-related environment is desirable.
  •  Possess knowledge of dog behavior, breed characteristics, and common health issues.
  •  Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments confidently and gently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with fellow staff members and pet owners.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Physically fit and able to handle the physical demands of the role, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  •  Demonstrated love, care, and passion for dogs, with sensitivity toward their needs and emotions.
  •  Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
