Summary/Objective:
The Quality Improvement Project Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, management and sustainment of a system of quality in Dimocks Health Services. S/He will support a portfolio of department-level quality and process improvement projects from project scope and design, process redesign, implementation testing, performance metric management, and sustainment plans. This role will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary improvement teams at a health center community level and across the several departments of the Dimock Center.
Essential Functions
1. Creates and executes all aspects of project plans by leading, facilitating and managing multi-disciplinary quality improvement projects with progressive independence; oversees and manages project management and logistics such as project timelines, agenda development, minutes and documents, slide decks and preparation of reports on project status and activities to various audiences
2. Has a working knowledge of systematic and coordinated approaches to solving problems using a quality improvement framework such as the IHI model for improvement, lean or other improvement methodologies and tools. Demonstrates progressively independent project management skills.
3. Leads or serves as consultant for multidisciplinary teams in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality care initiatives across all outpatient settings at the Dimock Center
4. Ensures effective data management for assigned quality improvement projects. Has knowledge of measurement framework, and participates in the design, development and implementation of data collection tools. Oversees and conducts data analytics and data integrity. Reviews accuracy of data collected from clinical records and other sources
5. Works actively with clinical staff to facilitate the highest possible performance on selected clinical quality measures.
6. Educates clinical staff, students, residents, and faculty regarding national clinical quality measures and the department's performance on these measures
7. Develops and maintains positive, collaborative, supportive working relationships with the medical staff, nurses, administration, department management, and staff
8. Periodically reports on quality matters and prepares reports for department and committees
9. Actively networks internally and externally to develop skills, knowledge base, and opportunities to promote the quality initiatives at the Dimock Center. Participates in pertinent professional education to maintain current knowledge of best improvement practices for select patient populations
10. Other duties as assigned

10. Proves to have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Flowcharting/mapping (QI Charts)
11. Reveals to be adaptable to learn and effectively use computer software, such as electronic health (EClinicalWorks), records data entry tools, and population health platforms (Arcadia, DRVS/Azara)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Hours of work: 8-4 pm Monday to Friday
Required Education and Experience
1. Systems thinking experience and/or training
2. Other degree or training relevant to health care (i.e., familiar with clinical terms or clinical background)
3. Experience working with diverse population
4. Knowledge of database management
5. Bilingual in a language common to population we serve
6. Demonstrated knowledge and use of quality improvement methodologies and tools (i.e., Lean/Six Sigma training)
