The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care supervision of the clients in the facility, overseeing the day-to-day operations and working closely with administrators, clinical and medical staff. The BHT assists the clinical team in the monitoring and admitting of clients into the agency. This position assists administrators while maintaining confidential information in accordance with the HIPPA, Information Security, and company policy.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Aids admissions in new client intake in accordance with new client Intake Policies and Procedures.
Ensures timeliness of clients to and from groups, individual therapy, meetings, and outside appointments in accordance with daily schedule.
Supports staff with the enforcement of and accountability for rules and guidelines as outlined in client handbooks.
Assists staff and clients in the administration and performance of urine analysis and breathalyzer testing in accordance with policies and procedures.
Communicates concerning client behavior to appropriate staff in a manner which staff fully understands. Assists in crisis intervention as appropriate in accordance with policy and procedures.
Provides safe transportation of clients to and from offsite services when necessary.
Interacts with and supervises clients during offsite activities in a manner which protects client confidentiality and supports client care.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, and spreadsheet software.
Education/Experience:
Minimum of one year working experience in the treatment field or related field, 2 years preferred
High School Diploma or G.E.D (General Educational Development)
