Busy Dermatology practice seeking an experienced professional to handle high volume phone lines, medical records, and some insurance verification/referrals. Candidate should be a team player, detail oriented with excellent typing and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Manage all incoming phones and direct patient calls to appropriate extension using multi-line phone system
• Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently
• Answer patient inquiries regarding general customer service questions (e.g. office directions, operating hours, etc.)
• Verify patient information, update when needed and document appropriate health care information electronically
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain referrals/prior authorizations for VA and HMO patients
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Upload/scan records and reports in designated areas according to protocol
• Exchange protected health information (PHI) as requested by outside providers in a manner that is HIPAA compliant
• Assists in maintaining records of patient care by compiling, reviewing, and filing documentation of patient’s condition, treatment, and health outcome

2 years Medical Office experience required

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: Based on experience $15.00-$18.00 per hour
