About this Opportunity 

Financial Risk & Governance ("FR&G")'s mission is to provide effective and efficient identification, measurement, monitoring and control of market, liquidity & stress testing related to the clearing and settlement processes for DTCC, its members and the markets. In addition, FR&G provides critical governance and quality assurance capabilities for key risk functions that are designed to meet rigorous organizational and regulatory standards. FR&G works under delegated authority from the Board and senior management to manage these risks within defined risk tolerances, as approved by the Board and senior management. FR&G collaborates closely with Quantitative Risk Management and the Counterparty Credit Risk teams, collectively referred to as Financial Risk Management ("FRM"), to maintain an integrated and comprehensive approach to financial risk management at DTCC to support an effective second line of defense. FR&Gs prime directive for DTCC's applicable clearing agencies and joint ventures consists of the following:
•Maintain sufficient collateral to cover any losses associated with the liquidation of any defaulting member or family portfolio under extreme but plausible scenarios;
•Ensure that sufficient liquidity resources are available so that each entity is able to settle all transactions as contracted in the event of a failure by the single largest member or family under extreme but plausible circumstances;
•Exercise continuous improvement of policies, procedures and processes that support robust, ongoing member surveillance and effective but appropriate response to distress events; and
•Manage FR&G to maintain a deep and broad product knowledge and risk framework to effectively measure and manage market, liquidity and credit risks.
Data Integrity ("DI") is responsible for data management, data governance, and data quality consumed by the functions within FRM. DI leverages tools to manage data quality based on logical rules and thresholds across one or more of the following dimensions: accuracy, completeness, conformity, consistency, coverage, duplication and timeliness. DI also manages third party vendor relationships utilized by the teams across FRM.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with business, operations, and technology partners to organize and prioritize a roadmap for achieving data management activities for FRM, including the nomination of critical data assets, business and technical metadata documentation, data source identification, data profiling and analysis, and data quality control requirements.
  • Support the Director of the Risk Data Integrity team with management of policies and procedures, driving development and redesign of strategic data platforms and tools, and lead the coordination of internal audit, control group, and regulatory deliverables as applicable.
  • Foster agile ways of working with global stakeholders to remain focused on delivering against a set of prioritized objectives.
  • Develop subject matter expertise across financial risk areas including market, credit, liquidity, stress testing, and quantitative risk.
  • Work with the latest technology and learn about new cloud platforms and data analytics capabilities.
  • Make well-informed, effective, timely decisions, and perceives the impact and implications of those decisions as it relates to the active project.
  • Articulate and present complex or technical information clearly and effectively to stakeholders and/or non-technical colleagues, in both small and large group settings.
  • Demonstrate successful project execution with measurable, high-quality, timely results.
  • Facilitate training sessions for junior team members.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Sound Like You?

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in project management, financial risk management, and data management
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Familiarity with Collibra, Informatica, SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, and AWS is a plus
