The Dayton Forging & Heat Treating Company is searching for a self-starting individual to come join our family owned and operated team of 30 employees. Started in 1919, we provide custom forgings, bar stock, heat treating and rough machining.

Deploy to various departments or positions as required throughout the day as instructed by supervision. Daily activities may include load and unload supplier or customer vehicles with the use of overhead cranes and forklifts. Participation in production related duties, including equipment or machine operation, material staging, handling and processing. Provide assistance to maintenance, gathering the necessary tools and parts or participate in the minor repair of the facility or equipment. General housekeeping, including organizing, sorting and cleaning of the facility, inside and out. Snow, trash or debris removal and other lawn or facility related maintenance. Use of hand tools, measurement devices and other machinery and equipment. This is an entry level position in a heavy manufacturing company with lots of growth opportunity.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

18 years of age or older

Previous forklift experience helpful

Previous overhead crane experience helpful

Strong ability to multi-task

Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
