The DarkStar Group is seeking a Data Science focused Software Engineer with a TS/SCI Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in McLean, VA. THE PROGRAM

The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. THE PROJECT

The Sponsor requires a team that will develop and provide support for mission applications and manage data science programs and systems for data aggregation, data analytics, data summarization, and data visualization on structured and unstructured datasets. 

THE ROLE

• Develop analytic methods that use Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) techniques that further the Sponsor’s mission and embed those techniques into self-service tools for broad use.
• Generate ideas for technical solutions to the Sponsor’s most challenging problems by engaging a variety of people across the Sponsor’s department to understand key challenges.
• Provide O&M of applications in the cloud infrastructure.
• Implement changes to current applications and data pipelines based on Sponsor requirements and oversight.
• Support Sponsor’s representatives in cloud environment purchase, engineering, and architecture related activities as applicable to applications.
• Provide management support to the Sponsor Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
• Continuously evaluate program progress and evaluate incoming information to ensure the program is progressing on schedule.
• Assist the Sponsor’s product owner with the solicitation, generation, and assessment of program requirements. 
• Assist the Sponsor’s product owner with mitigating or avoiding risks.
• Assist the Sponsor’s product owner in alleviating program issues.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagements, such as user requirements sessions and training.
• Track work requirements and action items to meet program deadlines.
• Support tasks requiring collecting, compiling, evaluating, and publishing information and statistical data included in documents, records, forms, reports, plans, policies, and regulations.
• Deliver development requirements as requested by the Sponsor.
• Use a Sponsor-approved tracking system for issues and problems.
• Provide applications development and programming support to develop software to implement system-level requirements.
• Implement changes to current applications based on changing partner requirements, legislation, and policy.
• Maintain current system software.
• With Sponsor oversight, enhance current system software.
• With Sponsor oversight, implement new functionality to system software.
• Create and maintain an automated test environment in the Sponsor’s cloud environment using technologies such as Selenium or comparable testing tools.
• Develop applications and modifications to existing Sponsor applications in compliance with the Sponsor’s architectural and Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) process.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience generating ideas for revolutionary technologies supporting operations in the hard target mission space.
• Demonstrated experience with entrepreneurial leadership in developing, pitching, selling, and deploying new technologies to solve operational problems. 
• Demonstrated experience in Python development with expertise in Python data analytics packages such as pandas, numpy, scipy, gensim, and scikit-learn.
• Demonstrated experience with database technologies, including Elasticsearch and SQL databases.
• Demonstrated experience with data pipelines and workflow technologies, such as Apache NiFi
• Demonstrated experience with task tracking and version control technology, such as GitHub and JIRA.
• Demonstrated experience with AI/ML technologies and packages, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Demonstrated experience with ML model development on text data, including NLP, and structured datasets.
• Demonstrated experience with data visualization technologies and packages, such as Kibana, Bokeh, Leaflet/Folium, and Tableau.
• Demonstrated experience developing in a cloud environment, such as Amazon Web Services.
• Demonstrated experience building application web based front ends.
• Demonstrated experience handling restricted data sets, both at the individual and system level.
• Demonstrated experience managing data to include transfer, ingestion, ETL, management, retention, and deletion while maintaining provenance and handling and dissemination restrictions.
• Demonstrated experience working with data spread across multiple enclaves.
• Demonstrated experience in the Sponsor’s A&A process; security regulations, policy and guidance. 
• Demonstrated experience documenting and editing the results of technical analysis for publication to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience solving tough problems by developing repeatable methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining web based applications.
• Demonstrated experience developing Flask apps.

• Demonstrate experience managing a Confluence site.
• Demonstrated experience with the Russian language ability.
• Demonstrated experience working the Sponsor’s Russia mission.
• Demonstrated experience working the Sponsor’s operational mission.
