Description

The DarkStar Group is seeking a Cyber Security Project Engineer with a TS/SCI Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Reston, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. We've grown on this effort by providing the customer with Engineers who have done exceptional work, and we've retained our staff by paying very strong salaries, and working hard to ensure each Engineer is doing work that aligns with their career interest.

THE PROJECT

The Sponsor requires support specializing in assessment and authorization (A&A) to ensure that the Sponsor’s requirements follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Work will include providing timely modification, development, deployment and administration of security accreditation tasks across Sponsor’s IT platforms.

THE ROLE

  • The Contractor shall provide services that will handle all security plan modifications, should any changes be required architecturally to the Sponsor’s data environment post-delivery throughout the duration of the contract.
  • The Contractor shall perform or review, technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • The Contractor shall validate, analyze and verify system security requirements definitions, and establish system security designs.
  • The Contractor shall design, develop, implement and integrate where applicable, Internal Audit and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments to include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection requirements.
  • The Contractor shall build Internal Audit into systems deployed to operational environments.
  • The Contractor shall assist architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application of Sponsor security policy and enterprise solutions.
  • The Contractor shall support the building of security architectures.
  • The Contractor shall enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures.
  • The Contractor shall assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • The Contractor shall contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations.
  • The Contractor shall review (A&A) documentation, providing feedback on completeness and compliance of its content.
  • The Contractor shall apply system security engineering expertise in one or more of the following; system security design process; engineering life cycle; information domain; cross domain solutions; commercial off-the-shelf and government off-the-shelf cryptography; identification; authentication; and authorization; system integration; risk management; intrusion detection; contingency planning; incident handling; configuration control; change management; auditing; certification and accreditation process; principles of IA (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, and access control); and security testing.
  • The Contractor shall support the Sponsor in the enforcement of the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  • The Contractor shall provide expert guidance and work product evaluation to one or more security engineers that support Engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration where applicable of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
  • The Contractor shall advocate and recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements.
  • The Contractor shall monitors and suggest improvement to Internal Audit policy.
  • The Contractor shall interact with customers, IT staff, and high-level corporate officers to define and achieve required Internal Audit objectives.
  • The Contractor shall assist the Sponsor to ensure that the architecture and design of information systems are functional and secure, including program of record systems and special purpose environments with platform IT interconnectivity.
  • The Contractor shall serve as a subject matter expert in security architecture to include providing assistance to Program Managers, Customer technical experts, and internal program teams.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience performing all lifecycle A&A activities.
  • Demonstrated experience translating mission/user requirements to technical requirements and conveying how a technical solution will deliver mission results.
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing work based on mission need.
  • Demonstrated experience working with application developers to identify and implement infrastructure and deployment requirements.
  • Demonstrated technical and functional understanding of modern web and mobile application architectures and related components including but not limited to DNS, HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP to aid in understanding of how information systems interoperate.

Desired Skills (Optional)

  • Demonstrated experience working with the Sponsor’s A&A process and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Sponsor’s Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience using the Sponsor's specialized platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux shell scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple cloud providers.
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more scripting languages.
